Why do athletes make so much money for playing a game while soldiers get paid so little to risk their lives and protect our country?
If we didn’t go to the games, nor watch them on TV, nor buy any merchandise, professional athletes would just be grown up boys playing ball in the front yard…
Is it their fault they get paid millions to play? Is it our, the fans, fault for perpetuating the situation? Is it the exec’s fault for maximizing their profit by paying the best players an outrageous amount of money to win?
It is a vicious circle full of fault, but also full of blame.
None the less, the soldiers are getting the short straw in this area. They risk their lives, get paid little, then have these idiots on the nightly news say how stupid the war is. Then the next night they talk about soldier morale.
We have some great men serving our country (some even on this site)…now we just need to modify a few of these ridiculous free speech laws that allow anybody to say anything about our soldiers, while the soldiers are out protecting the very free speech laws that are used to slander them.
I do not agree that we need to make stupid speech illegal, but I do believe that we should drown it out with the sound of good speech.
Only two sectors of American society are predominantly anti-American in their outlook and speech: entertainment and education.
We need to stop supporting ant-American entertainers and we need to give our kids more rights to defend their political beliefs against the deluge of political propaganda sprayed upon them by their teachers.
We the silent majority of good honest hard-working Americans need to speak up for our beliefs and stop accepting status quo from Hollywood and the state educational system.
