Local Christian Business Directory

So one day while driving, the idea came to me. Why don’t we, as Christians, put together a directory of Christians in the workplace. It could list Christian owned businesses, Christian car salespeople, auto repair shops, restaurants, interior decorators, loan officers, jewelers, etc.

Inside this directory you could find information on what church they attended, how long they had been doing what they do, and contact information. So I thought about doing this for about 3 weeks, then realized that it would be a lot of work, and forget about the idea…

So here I am about a year later and I walk into the Foyer of our church and on a table I see something that says “Christian Business Directory” so I pick up a free copy. As I am scanning through the magazine, I realized that this was exactly what I had been talking about!

It was a listing of all locally owned Christian businesses in the California Central San Joaquin Valley. Who would have known this would be such a good idea? Well, you heard it here first…or second in this case.

Is working 8 hours a day too much?

How often do you think about the amount of time you spend at work? Today, while at work, I was thinking about how much time I spend here. The average day I am here between 8 and 9 hours.

How many hours is too much, after all is said and done, we only have 24 per day, and I am spending one third of that at work.

Maybe there is a way that people can spend more time at home with their families, while getting paid enough to live…maybe each person could work 6 hours a day…or 4 hours per day.

We would all need to get paid more money, about 25-50% more money. Then there would be the issue of figuring out a way to cover all needed shifts since people won’t be there as often.

Could it work? Yes, but it would be very difficult.

Maybe some day.

Add Adsense to a WordPress blog

I tried to add some Adsense code to my WordPress blog, but it was very difficult. I couldn’t get it just right, and it wouldn’t align where I wanted it.

Then I came up a site that has a tutorial about adding Adsense to a WordPress blog…It saved me hours of trying to figure out a better way.

Once you get Adsense added, you shouldn’t have a problem changing the code colors or layout.
