If you haven’t used AuctionAds yet, it’s a pretty cool (blog is decent too), easy to use eBay affiliate. Basically they serve up keyword (you supply the keyword) based eBay auctions based on the keyword you supply.
I added it to this blog about a week ago with the keywords “Make Money Online”. All I got were a bunch of 1 cent listings (scammy stuff) that I knew nobody would buy. I tried “Make Money” and the results were similar.
Then I tried “Website for sale”. The results were much better, but I was getting a lot of adult themed ads. Then I tried “website for sale -adult”, and that seems to be the ticket. Well, at least it works.
I haven’t, however, made any money. 6 cents and 18 clicks. Maybe I need some new keywords.
What do you think would be good keywords for a blog about websites and making money online? Try to think outside the box because the obvious keywords aren’t working.
I’m in the same boat…let me know if you find anything that works out good for you. My click through rates are really high, but it’s not showing in revenue. I’ve made like $2.50.
Dave, what keywords have you tried?
I was using things like make money online as well. I was also doing some post-targeting, where if I had a post about a Dodge Viper for example, I’d use the term 94 dodge viper. I think that’s mainly where AuctionAds can excel…but it would work best on a site that for example reviews digital cameras, and in the post they can have it link directly to that camera’s auctions.
Dave, I think you’re right. Maybe reviewing AuctionAds isn’t the best product 🙂
Yeah, don’t use “make money online since it only returns scammy trash”. I’d use memory sticks, laptops, HDTV’s or something like that – or you can even specify a certain seller, which might be a good way to filter. You can read more about the feature on the auction ads blog.
